A Traditional American Thanksgiving--Ruth and Dannie and Ben arrived on Wednesday evening from Louisville bringing Ruth's cat, "Bob." Siddarth Rao, our friend from India who completed his MS at University of Dayton (UD) this spring, returned to Dayton from New Jersey and was accompanied by his friend Ashley Sherman. Saeed Uzzaman from Karachi, Pakistan, who is now finishing his master's work at UD, also joined us. We had a traditional dinner of roast "free-range" turkey, dressing (vegetarian and turkey broth versions), mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese, cranberry salad, and pumkin pie. We certainly have much for which to give thanks and offered our prayers for peace and friendship among the World's peoples. Mary Lou and Ruth enjoyed their usual Scrabble games and Bill, Dannie, and Ruth discussed "podcasting" and other computing topics and collaboration techniques. Ben was pleased to get a rest from his busy routine of work and music and graphic projects and to play with his cats that we have been keeping since early September. Ruth, Dannie, and Ben returned to Louisville early Friday afternoon. |
