Writing My Life and Times

My Sinclair Community College Friends Inspire Me to Write

I’m taking a class “Writing Your Life and Times” at Sinclair Community College’s College for Lifelong Learning. I originally created this post in class to demonstrate that posting text and images to a blog can be very easy. I used my iPod Touch for the complete operation: I spoke the text into Dragon Dictate, took a photo of some of my classmates with the iPod Touch camera and then combined all in the WordPress app. I uploaded the post directly from the iPod Touch to my WordPress site through the wireless Internet link available in the room. We then looked at the post live from my WordPress site. The whole process took less than 10 minutes from start to post. There were lots of errors which I cleaned up on my home computer. I probably left some of my writing friends behind, so I will review the process and go more slowly in a future class. The biggest challenge to keeping up a blog is having something to share that others would find interesting. I think the class will teach me that you have to keep writing and not to worry about being interesting to everyone. You can see three of my classmates in the image. They inspire and encourage me to write.
